JNMC students bag top prizes at Mumbai conference

Final year MBBS students of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Arham Khan and Hazique Jameel received the second prize for their clinical presentation on ‘PDA Device Closure in a Preterm Neonate’ mentored by Dr Shaad Abqari and Dr Mirza M Kamran at the AUXESIS?19 National Conference organised by the Grant Government Medical College (GGMC) and J J Hospital, Mumbai.

Arham and Hazique competed against over 200 medical students from all over India at the conference. Arham also won the Best Poster Presentation Award for his work on ‘Gestational Diabetes Mellitus and Hypothyroidism in pregnancy-A comparative study’ done under the guidance of Dr Nema Usman and Dr Yasir Alvi during the conference; while Hazique Jamel, as National Team Member of Medical Students Association of India (MSAI) conducted the Public Health Leadership Training (PHLT) on Anti Microbial Resistance, which was attended by Local Public Health Officers (LPO) of Standing Committee on Public Health (SCOPH).

Congratulating the JNMC students, Prof S C Sharma (Dean, Faculty of Medicine) commended them for regularly representing JNMC at various platforms.
